In this tutorial I am going to show you how to load roms and saves from your PC (over your network!). I haven’t seen ANY actual tutorials on how to go about doing this so I will make one. If you repost this tutorial on another forum (I encourage you to do so) please just give me credit.

//**Things you will need**\\
*A Wii with homebrew AND snes9xGX installed (Installed as WAD or in HBC. Remember to get the latest version)
*A windows PC (I am using Windows XP)
*Roms
*Internet connected to your Wii with your PC on the same network (It usually is anyway )
*10mins of your life

Step 1- Make a folder called snes9x or something to that affect on your desktop, then move it to a place that is easy for you to access, but out of the way.

Step 2- Make 3 folders inside the folder you just made: Roms, Saves, and Cheats.

Step 3- Now that you are in your snes9x folder, click “Share this folder” on the left.

Step 4- A window should now pop up. It will look like either the green one, or the white and blue one. If its the plain blue and white one, click network setup wizard and go through it, then restart your pc. After you restart, rename the snes9xGX folder, it should pop up a alert saying it wont be shared, click ok, now rename the folderback to what it was, now click were i show you in the green picture, then move to the next step.

Step 5- Now you can type in a share name. make it something short. Like “snes”. Also, check “allow network users to change my files” (or else the emulator won’t be able to write files, like SAVE YOUR GAME!) Also, remember to click “apply” AND THEN “OK”.

Step 6- Next you need to find your computers IP address. I am not going to make a image for that because you should know how. (click start, then click run, then type cmd, press enter, then type ipconfig and press enter, it will tell you a few things but write down your IP).

Step 7- Go back to your shared snes9x folder and then go into the roms folder. Place some roms in there. (The Beauty of it is that you can just drag and drop downloadroms and they instantly appear on your snes9x when you finish this tutorial!)

Step 8- Now go to your Wii and boot up snes9xGX, then go to settings. Go to “saving and loading”. Change your loading and saving devices to network. Then were is says “Load folder”, just erase what it has, and then type “roms” (no quote). Thats it, just the word “roms”. Then for the saves folder do “saves” (no quote) and for the cheats folder do “cheats (Guess what? no quote!).

Step 9- Then go back and go to the network settings. Where it says share IP, type your IP that you got earlier. Then for share name, type in what you made the share name on your computer (I made the share name “snes”). Then for your share username and password, just put the number zero for each. And I mean the number not the word.

Step 10- Go back out of the settings menu and it should say “preferences saved”. If it did… YOUR WERE SUCCESSFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
